The Benefits Of E-Cigarettes Compared To Tobacco Cigarettes

In the early 1990s, people began to worry about smoking and the way it was impacting their health. Prior to that, smoking was widely tolerated worldwide and most smokers didn’t suspect that conventional cigarettes could be detrimental to their health.
As evidence about the dangers of smoking became common knowledge, the consensus changed, society began to view cigarettes differently, and there was a huge boom in the smoking cessation industry.
But as many smokers soon discovered, it’s not an easy habit to kick. As a result, many cessation aids were invented to help people in their fight against addiction. There were nicotine patches and chewing gum, low-nicotine cigarettes—even acupuncture was considered as a potential aid.
The problem with smoking cessation is that the psychological side of smoking is at least as important as the physical one. In other words, a smoker is not only missing the nicotine during withdrawal, but also the act of smoking itself. But there is now a product that can cover both the physical and the psychological, helping the smoker to incrementally reduce their nicotine intake while still giving them something to smoke. That product is the e-cigarette.
For several years now the electronic cigarette has grown exponentially around the world. But despite this, some users still have concerns about whether the consumption of e-cigarettes is really better than smoking tobacco cigarettes. To alleviate these concerns we want to discuss the biggest benefits of smoking electronic versus conventional cigarettes.
These can be easily summarized in one sentence: E-cigarettes save lives.

E-Cigarettes Are Far Less Detrimental To Your Health

The biggest prejudice against e-cigarettes is that they are almost as detrimental to health as regular cigarettes, but this is simply not the case. This misconception is based on some dubious reports influenced by the tobacco industry and published shortly after e-cigarettes began to grow in popularity.
There have been many independent studies on electronic cigarettes and the general consensus is that e-cigarettes are not as detrimental to our health as tobacco cigarettes are.
For example, one study found that months after switching to electronic cigarettes, people had a significantly lower amount of toxins and carcinogens in their bodies compared to regular smokers.
Another study showed that steamers (e-cigarette consumers) had 97% lower levels of NNAL (a chemical toxin with a strong link to lung cancer). This and other publications should prove that the change to electronic cigarettes can dramatically reduce the risk of lung cancer and other diseases in the long term.

E-Cigarettes Are Cleaner

Another benefit of the e-cigarette is that it’s much cleaner than smoking, so the times of foul-smelling clothes are over. What’s more, the consumption of e-cigarettes does not irritate people nearby. In fact, many people consider the smell of the steam to be pleasant.
People who have smoked inside their apartments for years have yellowed wallpaper and curtains, as well as tar residue on furniture and appliances, but this is a non-issue with e-cigarettes. In addition, there is no issue with overfilling ashtrays, burns in the carpet or clothes, dropped ash, and other such issues that have plagued smokers for hundreds of years.
E-cigarette smokers also have nothing to worry about when it comes to yellowed fingertips and teeth.

E-Cigarettes Are Cheaper In The Long Term

Smoking is a very expensive habit and as taxes increase, it’s only getting more expensive. Taxes on tobacco products has more than doubled over the past 15 years, and in some countries it has increased even more than this. If you smoke a lot, you can easily spend hundreds of Euros a month—enough to feed a family of four!
However, things are different when it comes to e-cigarettes. Though the devices are relatively expensive for purchasing, the liquids and replacement vaporizers are quite cheap compared to tobacco products. Therefore, even regular steamers typically don’t spend more than 20 to 50 euros a month. Occasional steamers spend even less.
In conclusion, electronic cigarettes are not only the better choice for your health, but also for your wallet. Actually, there is not a single advantage over e-cigarettes which traditional cigarettes can still offer. The e-cigarette may be the best option for smokers to get rid of this useless habit without sacrificing indulgence.
